Wonderful outlook.

Our baby puppy is growing up so fast, I am sure he has doubled in size since we first brought him home. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is supposed to grow to approximately 90 - 100 pounds and he loves to cuddle on my lap. I wonder how that will go once he is full grown and tries to slowly overtake my lap with snuggles. We had a rule for the first three weeks; no puppy on the couch. That didn’t last very long. Last week we started letting him on the couch and he loves it, of course, but so do we!
Raising a puppy is really hard work, but it is already rewarding.
We took puppy Jax camping this weekend and he loved it… he even tried swimming for the first time. Of course he loved that too.
I got home from New York last week, it was a wonderful trip. The best part had to be getting to spend time with my friends from Holland, Marlieke and Eline. It has been over a year since I last saw them so it was about time we got to hang out.
New York is a wonderful city, I cannot believe how much there is to see and do there. I will have to go back to experience even more. We spent a lot of time walking through the city so that we could see more things, like Grand Central Station. The ceiling is so high and the constellations are mysterious and make you feel like you are in a story book. I think that was my most favourite place in New York but I love visiting train stations and airports all over the world. I’m not sure why, maybe it is that they feel like the doorways to the world.
We also went to a Yankees game although I have to confess that I am not a baseball fan but the Yankees Stadium is a pretty famous place to visit and they were playing my home team, the Blue Jays.
Central Park is beautiful; we walked the whole length of it. It is fascinating how the park is like an island of nature in the midst of a booming metropolis. Walking beside the park it was cool to see the juxtaposition of earth and water against metal and concrete.
Times Square, The Empire State Building, shopping and eating: It was all such an amazing experience and I am especially glad to have spend it with great friends.
